Hi everyone!

This is sadly, my very last blog post here on Barre None. In this blog post, I would like to tie all of the blog posts that I’ve put up together, and conclude the website as a whole. I would also really love some feedback in the comments section, for my very last post!

Over the two and a half months that I’ve had this blog, you’ve seen posts about body image, eating disorders, preventative strategies, preteens, and ballet. My purpose for Barre None was to discuss the prominence of eating disorders among young ballet dancers, and to make some sort of difference in the ballet world- through educating you all about this topic. I hope that these posts all helped to increase your understanding, and that it made some sort of positive difference in terms of your own body image and relationship with food.

I initially created this blog as a part of an extensive personal project for school. I have seen first-hand the way ballet culture affects young girls and their body image, so I took the opportunity to make a difference. The prevention of eating disorders in ballet dancers is something that I’m extremely passionate about!

It would be extremely helpful for me, and my project, if you could comment something on this blog post! If you don't feel comfortable leaving you're real name, feel free to fill out the name field with "anonymous". Also, your email address is not visible to anyone if you comment. Please feel free to comment any feedback you would like to, but if you’re stuck some ideas are:

  1. A rating out of 10 (you can judge on Barre None’s comprehensibility, accuracy, and helpfulness)

  2. Did this blog teach you anything new? If so, what?

  3. Did you find this blog helpful at all? Why or why not?

  4. Why did you subscribe to Barre None?

  5. Your personal journey with body image

Also, about half a year ago, I conducted a survey with young teen dancers from 4 different studios in my local area. I was initially going to include my results in this concluding blog post, to add some content. However, I decided that the results were far too long. If anyone would be interested in seeing these results, let me know by commenting on this post, and I will post them!

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, followed me on social media, shared my posts, or just visited my page! Remember that your body is strong, beautiful, and BAR(RE) NONE, and continue spreading body positivity, and educating people around you about the unfortunate prevalence of eating disorders among young ballet dancers.

Love,

Barre None
